Ok guys this is gonna be quick...
If I say "a warm-up is used to lower the affective filter", how could I say this phrase in other words. And please, give me "to lower" in other situation...

A warm-up is used to lessen/decrease/minimize the affective filter.

Clancy lowered the boom.
We lowered him carefully onto a stretcher.
The clouds lowered and darkened, and it began to rain.
