Well, the Swedish government did it. The Irish government did, and so did a couple of others. |
In Ireland, most of the support for homegrown music goes into "A Song for Ireland". That's a whole industry designed to deliver the next Irish European Song Contest winner. And, in my humble opinion, it produces nothing but shite. Listen to this skit for a veritable impression.
