Usage of past perfect

I had lived since I was a high school student.

Actually, I think this sentence is incomplete. I think there needs 'where' the speaker had lived. I think "I had lived there or in Seoul or wherever since I was a high school student." would be nice. Well, if the sentence had a context like 'Before my grandmother passed away'. it would be nicer, wouldn't it? "Before my grandmother passed away, I had lived there since I was a high school student."

Or, as my colleague insists,

The sentence could be an answer for "Who had lived here?". What do you think? Is it logical?

Or,
Does 'live' have another meaning that might be acceptable in this sentence?

What do you think? Do you think this sentence itself is grammatically/sementically correct? If so/not, why do you think that way? Please answer me in detail!!!!!

I agree, this sentence seems incomplete. Your colleague's justification isn't accurate as the sentence would read "I had lived (here / there / in ___) since I was a high school student".

However, I think "to live" can be used to say how someone had lived, how their life had obtained more significance in this time period, since being a high school student. Other examples of contexts where 'live' could be used like this could include: "Now we're living" - now we're living a better life in comparison to the life we've maybe left behind.

"See what it means to be living" - get the most out of life.
