Hi, Alan
Very interesting... finaly they got to your country, I mean forgers. In Russia it is not news to see a person at a Metro entrance with a plaque hanging on a rope over his/her neck, which reads "Diplomas, cheap, everything is legal" or something like so. People are so used to such outrageus violations of the law that the diploma has lost its credit. _________________ Alex

Wow, it is a surprise to learn that degrees sale practice is common in Russia. Same in Indonesia or even worst, that sacrilegious action can easily found. The degrees normally offered by the immoral staffs of it university itself. Under normal circumstance the degree is being traded for around Rp 20.000.000,00 (don't amazed by the digit, it only about $ 2000) and usually offered by less popular university.
Certainly there are dozens of people respond positively to that unscrupulous offer. The major reasons may be associated with witlessness or laziness. An increase of the society perspective toward the education status is also another reason. Like what was state in the alan's post the few letters behind your name may be tremendously affect the career opportunity, for instant: in Indonesia, undergraduate degree is the least education requirement for local senator nominate.
Those are the reasons I can think off. Do you have difference opinion as mine ?
Thanks
