Letter to beg a CEO of an English center (TOEFL preparation)

Summarize my purpose of writing this letter: I'm writing this letter to beg a CEO of an English center allow me to study free more.
Mr Nghia: the CEO and Director of VUS who has been providing Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship
Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship: a prestige scholarship in my country, the prizewinners must be very good students and have a very high mark in University entrance examination and also they have a poor condition.
The worth of the scholarship is: I can learn the EIC(English for International Communication) program free at VUS, from class 1 to class 8. According to my Pre Test’s result (to estimate my level), I started to study from class 6.
I was the second highest in my University Entrance examination 2006-2007. I’m the monitor of my class. I’m also a member of the Communist Youth Union Leader Board of my faculty. I have some certificate of merit from:
- The Center of National Defence Education certificate: because I was one of the most excellent student in the course. I was also the captain of my company, and our company got the second position in the course.
- The Communist Youth Union of Ministry of Transport and Communication: For Students who have had excellent achievements in Youth activities.
- Student’s Society of my university: for Student who had great achievements in the “Volunteer Saturday” campaign. I was a leader of a team I we worked at a Tre Xanh (Green Bamboo) shelter in district 1.
This is the 1st time I have written this kind of letter and I’m afraid my letter is not perfect and I hope you will help me. Here is the letter:

Dear Mr Nghia,
I’m A. I’m a student of HCMc University of Transport and Communication. My major is Bridge and Road Engineering. I’m writing this letter to thank you for your contribution in education(or your goodness). In 2006, I received Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship from VUS and Thanh Nien newspaper. I was very happy and moved by your scholarship. With your present, I have had more power and belief to complete my dream-make Vietnam to be a great nation. Before I studied at VUS, my English had been very bad. Because I hadn’t clearly and completely conceived the essential of English nowadays. After hearing from your speak in the Awarding scholarship day, my view about learning English had been changed. Since there, I have had a great passion in studying English. Because I know, If I want to be an excellent engineer to help our country, not only my professional knowledge is expert but also my English must be very good. Therefore , my English has been increasing rapidly. The key reason of my progress is the educating of VUS is very good and efficient. Now, I’m very confident with my English, I can communicate with foreigners fluently that I had never been able to do before I studied at VUS. I’m going to organize an English club in my university . My plan was accepted by the Youth Organization of my University. I believe I will succeed and the students will have a lot of good chances to practice and use the real English in an English environment. When they ask where am I studying English, I’ll answer proudly: VUS, that is a very good English center, there are a lot of very good teachers and modern facilities… In VUS, I’m going to study class 8, the final class of the scholarship. You know, Study never ends. Therefore, I really want to study more higher program at VUS to master the English language. But my family is too poor to afford the tuition. I hope you would share with me to complete my dream. My resume is enclosed. Thank you very much for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
