Grammar question: double quotation Wed Feb 27, 2008 11:12 am  Grammar question: double quotation

Hi,

Two points: after a preposition it would be correct to change 'who' to 'whom' as in 'to whom' 'by whom' and so on. The verb 'you went' in a question form would have to be: did you go?.

Having said that, I have to point out that the sentence: With whom did you go to the movie? sounds very formal and in conversational English I recommend: Who did you go to the movie with?

Alan
