Hi Alan,

can i write like this " I cannot pay the house rent until 2008"

" I cannot pay the house rent upto 2008 "

what is the difference between the two sentences ?

could you give me the explanation for the above sentence?

.
I cannot pay the house rent until 2008 = I can start paying on 1 January 2008.

I cannot pay the house rent up to 2008 = I can never pay any rent money for the period from now to 31 December 2007.

Hi!

Can anyone tell me which of the following sentences sounds more natural?

1. Shortened the validity to six months Up To Dec 2010
2. Shortened the validity to six months Until Dec 2010

Hi,

I would prefer 'up to' as we are using it as a statement , which doesn't have the same sense of time passing as for example: I think my card will soon be out of date because its validity only lasts until November.
