. A distributive pronoun considers members of a group separately, rather than collectively.
They include each, any, either, neither and others. (Wikipedia) . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Aid also means help. Why is aid not correct in this sentence? Thanks. Hong |

Hi Hong,
'Aid' has a much broader meaning than 'help' and is used in expressions like: Aid to the Third world/Overseas Aid. Aid for the victims of earthquakes/wars/flooding and so on. The word here indicates mainly financial support given by governments/individuals to help people recover from various problems.
