Will citing references incorrectly, in my dissertation, negatively affect my grade? and what if I forget to cite a few references? Please let me know.

If you cite references incorrectly, or you don't cite them at all, it could be considered plagiarism. If you're already at the dissertation level, why don't you already know this?

What prevents you from citing correct references? It is good if you cite more references because it will prove that you checked a lot of sources for your work...
