Un/Clear comparasion; Where to put "more"? #1 (permalink) Wed Mar 05, 2008 16:02 pm   Un/Clear comparasion; Where to put "more"?

1. Is the following sentence clear? If not, how to make it clearer?

I'm more like my father than my mother.

2. Where should the adv. "more" be put?

I look "more" like my father than my mother.
or
I look like my father "more" than my mother.

3. Again, are the sentences both clear in #2?

1. I'm more like my father than my mother.-- This is clear.

2. I look like my father more than my mother.-- This is unclear; it could mean that both you and your mother look like your father.
