Here is the definition of "mass-market" in OALD:

mass-market
adjective
[only before noun] (of goods etc.) produced for very large numbers of people

=> However, I wonder why they write "large numbers of people" and not "large number of people". I think the phrase "a large number of people" is a fixed phrase...
