How popular have the following books been in the US/UK/Canada?

1) The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
2) Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
3) The Catcher In The Rye by Salinger

I am asking this question because I've seen many people here in India whose favourite books are 'The Fountainhead' and 'Atlas Shrugged'.

I personally liked 'The Catcher In The Rye' though.

Many high school and college students have to read "The Catcher in the Rye".

A lot of political and economic conservatives like any book by Ayn Rand, because she preaches the doctrine that people will do the right thing as long as they're left free to pursue their own "enlightened self-interest". This supports the idea of conservatives that government shouldn't intervene very much, and that if ordinary people are free to do what they want, they will usually make decisions that are best for themselves and for others. (Of course, any idea becomes defective when taken to an extreme, so this doesn't work all the time with all people, since some people have a criminal mentality.)
