TOEFL® essay example: The best things in life do not cost money

The best things in life do not cost money.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Nowadays, earning a lot of money is the goal of people in their lives. It is reasonable because most of things come from money or people can not do anything without money.However, there are some things that people can not buy with money. Tantalizingly, those are the best things in life. Therefore, I support the statement that: “The best things in life do not cost money “.

First of all, love plays an integral part in everyone’s life and there is no kind of money which can transfer with that special good. In fact, love is a very sensory feeling of human and no one can urge others to love them. In some cases, people want to have a rich lover and they get married with those who can satisfy their ambition. Those are not the true love and their endings are often not happy. Actually, receiving love from others is a wonderful gift, especially from who we love. This costs no money but sacrifice, care and patience.

Furthermore, people need to have much money mostly because they want to be happy but that ultimate goal is properly not doable with money. There are a lot of families which are not really happy despite of their richness. This phenomenon has become more and more popular. As an example, a couple is always busy with their own work to earn money. Ultimately, they really have a big property but it does not bring them the happiness in life. Their relationship fades and becomes less profound. Also, the children are cool towards them and become deteriorate because of lacking care from parents. Hence, that couple will properly have a sense of emptiness and the money they earn is useless.

To sum up, I strongly believe that money can not be used to buy our valuable things in life for all of above reasons. Actually, in order to obtain those things, we must pay much effort and time rather than just money.
