Hi,

Could you help explain any differences in these sentences:

1. When it was raining, we arrived.
2. It was raining when we arrived.
3. We arrived when it was raining.

I am muddled by them.

They are very similar in meaning, but the first and third could be interpreted as "we chose to arrive when it was raining". A bit odd, right?
