Hi,
I need help. Very Happy Is it correct?
The travel to NY was long and tiring.
Journey (or Travel) makes you more sensetive to other cultures.
Is there any difference between journey and travel?

TIA, Jane.

Hi Vishnya,

'Travel' as a noun is often used in the plural to describe a number of journeys as in: Travels with my Aunt (a novel by Graham Greene). In the singular it's used to describe the process of going to different places/countries as in: Travel broadens the mind. Therefore it wouldn't work in your first sentence, where you would use 'journey'. 'Journey' can refer to one particular piece of travelling from one place to another and can also be used in the plural. In your second sentence you would need 'travel'.
