Memo: The new chairs ordered for fellow colleagues will be delivered on... #1 (permalink) Mon Mar 24, 2008 5:43 am   Memo: The new chairs ordered for fellow colleagues will be delivered on...

I am going to send the following memo to my team members. please check and make changes wherever necessary. Thanks!
----------------------------------------------

Dear all,

The new chairs ordered for fellow colleagues will be delivered on Saturday 29 March. The current chairs you sit on will be moved out of the office on the same date.

The office would like to offer the current “old” chairs to you if you are interested to take it. Please follow the procedures below.

1. Please inform me by end of Thursday if you are interested in getting the “old” chair. The quantity of chairs you can get depends on the total quantity ordered by others. The chairs at CSC do not account for the old chairs since they are less than one year old and will continue being used for the meeting rooms later.

2. I will provide you on Friday a letter of authorization which needs to be shown to the guard of the building when you move out the chair from the office.

3. Please get “your” chair out of the office when you leave on Friday. Otherwise, the old chair in your cube will be shipped out of the office on Saturday so that on Monday only the new chair will be put in your cube.

FYI, we plan to donate the left over “old” chairs to local schools or organizations who need them.

Should you have any questions about the above note, please let me know.

I have made some amendments:

For Item 3, i changed it to "Please get your chair out of the office when you leave on Friday and make your own transportation to ship it home." Do you have anything to change on it?

Besides, i feel the words of getting your chair out of the office sound a bit strong or unpolite? Is that so?

Thanks.
