hi:
what's the difference between 'in progress' and 'in the process of' ?
1) PCB re-layout is in progress 2) this project is in the process of PCB re-layout |

Hi,
I think someone would ask:
How is this project going?
and the answer could be:
This project is in progress/is still being worked on.

Hi,
'In progress' suggests that the work/task is still taking place - isn't yet finished. 'In process of being completed' would mean very much the same but is simply a more elaborate way of describing what is happening.

I could see two reads on it: 1) Step X is occurring now. 2) The project, composed of many steps, is at Step X.
Which could make a difference if it's possible to get stalled on Step X. For instance, the project may be at Step X and stuck there, without Step X being in progress yet. |
