Beautiful vs Handsome

Could someone please tell me if I can use beautiful for men and handsome for women?

You can use "handsome" for women who are older and have an air of authority. It doesn't mean they're masculine, but just that they're powerful and good-looking.

It's possible to use "beautiful" for men, but it often has a homosexual connotation.
