Usage of the verb "continuous" Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:25 am  Usage of the verb "continuous"

Hi,

When these verbs are used in the continuous form, they take on a different meaning. 'I am hearing stories about the price of bread going up' means 'stories like these are coming to my notice/I am being told these stories'.

'I am seeing Mary at six tonight' means 'I am going to meet Mary ...'
