Hi Alan, my TOEFL test is going to be soon, write comments on my essay. how much score i can get for this one?
Some people prefer to participate in group sports; others would rather take part in individual sports. What are the advantages of each and which do you prefer? Use reasons and examples to support your opinion
Here the question being asked is advantages or group sports and individual sports and which I would prefer? This is an interesting question as both the options have clear cut advantages and it all depends on the individuals mental make up to choose one. I would prefer group sports.
As I have stated earlier that both the sports have their own clear advantages so there can be no right or wrong only a matter of preference. In individual sports you are your own competitor. You know that you can make no mistakes and if there is any mistake made by you only you are to be blamed. Since you are your competitor in individual sports your motivation level is very high. Also one learns to perfect the sport. For example in golf there is no one in your team. Your team is you and yourself. So if one shot is not good enough you have to compete with yourself to do better next time!
In group sports everyone works as a team. A mistake made or a chance lost by one player can be covered up by another player. Mistakes by one player would not mean loosing the game, in spite of a number of mistakes a team can still win ! Also all players learn to move and play as one, with one aim in mind. It teaches unity to the team members.
I would prefer group sports. I like working as a team. It is more fun and also a lot of learning from other team members. Each member is good at a particular tactic in the sport and a lot can be learned form everyone. Also the triumph in winning as a team and celebrating is par none. Also so much time is spend with the team members practicing that you get a chance to know them well and most of the times they turn out to be your lifetime friends. Thus I am cut out for a group sport. |
