Dear Thaju,
your question is quite important. The best way to improve your knowledge of a foreign language is to do things you do regularly or things that you like doing by employing this language. If you like watching TV and movies, try to watch English movies or shows. If you like reading, try to read English books, magazines, newspapers. If you have fun doing something, it becomes easier for you to learn new things.

I improved my English through watching English programmes, like BBC and speaking with natives  It also helped me to share my thoughts with people who spoke English too. :D |

Dear Alan, Can I use 'appearance' word to fit the above sentence? may be "appearance on our performance"? Thanks, CDT |

| The best method is total immersion. Total immersion, in this context, means that you put yourself in a situation where the only language you hear or are allowed to speak is English. Many countries have host families where you pay to stay with a family while attending classes in the target language - English is this case. When you are in class, the only language you hear or speak is English. When you go back to where you are staying (the host family), you only hear and speak in English. Short of this method, you can watch English speaking television shows, listen to English speaking radio shows, or, listen to the English language on the Internet. |

Hi Cdt,
In the test sentence 'appreciation of' is the only possible choice here. This means that the audience have shown by their applause that they appreciated what the performers did. 'Appearance' would have to be followed by 'at' and would simply mean that they 'appeared' or 'attended' the performance and that doesn't relate to what they thought of the performance.
