CPE exams, NYC June 2008 anyone?

Hello, I am new here. I am planning on going for a Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) in NYC, USA. Well I was ... but now I am not that sure about it. I didn't have much time to prepare. I have to decide within 2 weeks wheather to try for CPE or "just" Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). The expenses on the exams and the trip to NYC are kind of high (for me) so I am worried about wasting the money if I won't pass the exams. Is there anyone here, who will be taking the CPE exams in June also? I would love to find someone to talk to about the exams. :D

Hey Gabriela,

I wish you plenty of luck, too. This exam is rather sophisticated. The thought of sitting for the CPE has crossed my mind multiple times, but every time I recalled the test's intricacy, I quickly gave up. Once more, the best of luck.

Hi Gabriela,

I didn't mean to throw you into confusion. I just mentioned the difficulty of the test to me. I wouldn't go because I would definitely fail. Simply download some sample tests and see for yourself. From my point of view, the CPE is quite hard, you are a different person who has a different level of knowledge, therefore you have another perception for things.

well, I have been practicing the CPE past years papers for a while now... I do pretty well on all of them I think, but I have no idea how well I will do in writing... :( That is probably going to be my bigest problem .... Don't get me wrong, I don't think I am that good in English, but I have to try. :) The worst problem I am dealing with is something I can't explaine.... : Sometimes I misspell words I have been spelling correctly for many years .... out of the blue... I can't remember how to spell a word I've spelled right many times before... why is that?
