| In my opinion, I think it's just matter of agening... As you get older you get more tasks, obligations, problems etc etc... So I think when you're older, you only live to work and to support your family at one point (unless you don't have one :/) |

The older you get, the easier it should be for you to support your family and deal with your problems and complete your tasks, etc. It all depends on what your goals. Most people never think about creating a system that generates value for other people. The vast majority earn their living by trading their time for money. As soon as they stop working, they stop getting paid. _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

'work for life'
In my opinion, we all have work to earn money and lead a decent life(whether we like it or not,it is necessary). |

Hello,
Your job will always be a burdensome work if you think of it as a sine qua non of living. So to avoid that, one must regard his/her profession as a vocation. To do that, one must live for work/work for people. The other things come along. |

How so? I still think happiness is the ultimate goal in life. |

Happiness is a mental state, not a physical one. Happiness is within you. Most of our goals have to do with what is external. But the ingredients of happiness are internal. Some people try to 'reach' happiness via external factors. I think there are ways you need to think, not steps you need to take.

You actually sound like my father.
I think you need to achieve a certain level of spiritual strength to apply that concept in your life.
Being Zuhud is the biggest challenge for me, yet according to the wise ones, it is the way to happiness. |

Nina could connect to what I wanted to say. We shouldn't be objective at defining 'happiness' for it is inherently relative. _________________ First lesson - English, not english. I, not i. ~A student of English |

I am afraid I've lost you Gray.
Are you saying that people just want different things and therefore any attempt to define happiness subjectively, is really a waste of time? |
