Hi,

'Court' can have different meanings, two of which are a place where a judge/magistrate administers justice/the law. It can also be a place where tennis is played - hard court grass court.

I imagine the one in the multiple choice could refer to the tennis court. Back court suggests a tennis court that is not in the centre of the sports area but the expression here is 'put on the back burner' indicating that something is still kept under consideration but will be looked at later.

question #3 (permalink) Mon Nov 22, 2010 19:44 pm   question

Hello
-to put on the back burner /infml/ =to put work, etc aside to be dealt with later

This determination is from Oxford advanced learner's dictionary -is it correct in this question?

If yes, than its synonyms can be: set aside something, postpone sth, put off sth ; defer//delay sth.

Thanks:
