Hi,

'Clothing' is the most general of the three since it describes everything that is worn as in clothing department in a store/shop. 'Clothes' are particular items of clothing as in: The trouble with George is that he never tidies his room and leaves all his clothes on the floor. 'Dress' can be an item worn by a woman as in 'party dress' and it can also be used for men and women for a particular type of formal clothing as in: At the diplomatic reception everybody was in evening dress. Which one would you choose for your question?

My fault! 'Costume' is often used for clothing used in a particular context as in the clothes available in a theatre for the performers to wear. Plays performed in the theatre or on TV which take place in another period in the past are sometimes called 'costume dramas'.

I agree to Alan, I think i'll choose A because I think in this case we found 'Several items' that means we knew quite clearly the kind of clothing. What do you think about my opinion?
