aleof, do you realize that a lot of what you posted in your rebuke supports my point of view? In more than one sentence you used local "Tibetan government" and "Tibetan troops" as being totally separate and different from Chinese. Further you have conveniently skipped a few important years.

Also, Qing dynasty, protectorate over Tibet did not make it part of China.. merely did put it under China's control... it was no different then German's control over France during WWII, or Japan's control over Manchuria when it came there for a longer visit.

Historically speaking, from its origins... Nepal has a much bigger claim to Tibet than China does. In fact, after removal of of Qing dynasty and creation of a "new china" you have exactly "0" claim to Tibet if you base your claim on anything that happened at anytime in the far past. The only claim you have is based on the force of arms, and economic power... nothing else.

aelof, tell me... what was relative value(status as compared to male) of female in a Chinese society somewhere between 600-700?
