pedagogical sciences or pedagogics? #1 (permalink) Sun Apr 20, 2008 0:20 am   pedagogical sciences or pedagogics?

Hello everyone

I'd like to ask which phrase sounds more natural for native English speakers as an academic degree -- Dr. of pedagogical sciences, or Dr. of pedagogics. Or there is no difference between them?

.
Ms Google finds both in about equal measure-- but they are all mainly in Russia: obviously a Russian specialty. I would think that there is little difference in breadth of field.

Thank you very much, Mr. Micawber. And you are absolutely correct, this is a Russian specialty.

I think pedagogics is a very common socialist or post-socialist countries and it's a mix of communist ideology and some basic concepts of psychology. In western countries they call this major 'education'.
