Opportunity "in this case" is something we "have"

Therefore "I felt very honoured to have the opportunity" ..... or indeed "I felt very honoured in having the opportunity"

and on this point .....

There is great confusion as to when to use opportunity and possibility.

e.g.

What is the difference between

We have the possibility.
We have the opportunity.

(smile)

This should get everyone thinking and unless it comes before, Ill give two months before I give the answer. Maybe someone can push this to a new thread ..

Maybe we should start some form of competition here, the winner gets .... um "the possibility to by me a Porsche or the opportunity to buy me a Porsche ..... Now what else do I need (giggle)?

The reason I suggest this is because an opportunity can't really 'honour'.

I was taught that 'The reason ... is because ...' is not correct, and that it should the The reason ... is that ...

Could you please let me know whether I was taught wrongly?
