Hello everyone!
My name is Sarah and I'm a native English speaker. I'm currently studying at the University of North Carolina, and I'd be happy to help people learning English.

I'm writing to see if there are any people here from Damascus. My goal is to live in Damascus and teach English there, but I don't know how to find a job! If there is anyone who can help me that would be appreciated.

Glad to be part of this forum with all of you! Best of luck in learning English!

Salaam سلام Sarah, welcome to our forum. Why do you want to work in Damascus, have you ever been to Syria before? As far as I know we have quite a few forum members from Syria -- let's see if they find you or you find them.

Talk to you soon.
Thanks,
Torsten

Hi Torsten! Yes, I have been to Syria before. Last summer I lived in Jordan, and I spent several days traveling in Syria. I visited Damascus and Aleppo (a city in the north) and I really liked the culture, pace of life, and general "feeling" in the country.

I found some members that had posted about Syria, but no one that has posted since 2006, so I'm hoping that there are still some Syrians around here!

Well, Hercules is from Syria and you can read one of his posts here. Why do you like Syria so much, I mean how and when did you realize you like its culture and people?
