can anybody do some corrections please?

Code:
I s Progress always a good thing?

Progress has different definition but some of the most popular definition of progress are going from one-step to another step, moving forward or making a better condition. Nowadays, we can see progress in different aspects of life such as industry, agriculture or even military. Some of the most famous example of progress especially in technology is invention of computer and airplane. While many people are agree with this statement that progress is always a good thing, I strongly believe that progress is not always a good thing.

To begin with, progress threatens our lives. While progress supposed to make our life safer, it makes our lives insecure and more dangerous. For example, nowadays, instead of carriage we use cars because as many people think, it is safer, easier and faster. Therefore, we can travel a long distance only in a few hours. On the other hand, this progress in our lives makes our lives more dangerous. In other words, cars are threatening our lives time in some serious ways. For example, the first disadvantage of cars is air pollution. Statistics show that number of people who are dying because of respiratory diseases such as, asthma, bronchitis and Cancer are more than people who were killed by carriage accidents.

Secondly, progress is destroying nature. In the twenty first century, one of the most important problems that people are faced because of progress, is global warming. Global warming includes different events such as, fluctuating in climates, destroying jungles and extinction of animals. For instance, due to the progress in life conditions such as improving in medicines or better hygiene system, population was increased. Because of more places to live, people started to destroy jungles. Statistics indicate one quarter of jungles on the Earth were destroyed in the last century and with this rate of destruction, we will not have any jungle in the next century.

In conclusion, I do completely disagree with the statement that progress is always a good thing because, progresses that we see in our society is directly in contrast with the real definition of progress, making a better condition. In fact, progress is threatening our lives and destroying our nature. If we want to see a real improvement in our lives, we should start from ourselves.
