Dear English experts,

I got a very good friend named Anthony who has recently been selected as a new president for a society in our campus. I've come across few off line messages from his friend congratulating him as the following way:

"Congratulation to Anthony for becoming the new president of Music club."

"Our heartiest congratulations to Anthony for being selected as the new president of music club."

Congratulations to Anthony on getting selected as a new president of Music club."

Which of the above sentence you think is correct and why?

Best wishes,

Alex

Here is my idea:

only the 3rd sentence is correct because of usage of "congratulation" is "congratulation to someone on something"
(Just my 2 cents Razz)

Good idea, Nessie. One other thing - you need something to qualify 'music club' like 'the' or 'our' or whatever.
