Okay... I really started doubting myself with this one... I have seen both forms used in just past 24hr(in printed media)

... provide a great experience ...

or

... provide an great experience ...

Hi AngieD,

There's no question about this one, it has to be: provide a great experience ...The use of 'an' is before a vowel sound so if you used 'experience' without 'great', it would be: an experience.

My guess is that the writer originally wrote "an experience", then added the word "great", and forgot to change "an" to "a". It's a common mistake in the computer age.

My favorite computer mistake is when I have students write an explanation of how to cook a frozen pizza and they don't spell check attentively. I often get papers that say that one should let the pizza bake for "20 minuets". If you danced 20 minuets before you took the pizza out, you'd have nothing but carbon on your plate.
