Can I use stretch to mean work overtime or a lot?

Eg: Don't stretch too much! You won't get more money anyway.

Hi Daemon

I've never heard 'stretch' used that way.

Hi Daemon,

The only verb I can think of that might suit you is 'overstretch'. If you tell someone not to overstretch themselves, you are advising them against taking on too many tasks at the same time.

Thanks Alan!

Can you think of any other words that mean to work a lot? I could come up with a few

1) work your as*s off
2) work your socks off

Can slog be used in that sense?
