Hi, again Smile

Could you tell me if these usages are common in your neck of the woods:
Quote:
He dissembled the facts from us, so we were unable to react quickly
The prosecutor charged me with dissembling the important information on the case

Thanks again !

Hi Alex

It's not an unknown word, but I would say it isn't used terribly often in everyday speech.

Hi Alex

I wasn't terribly impressed with the 'from us'. I'd omit that and just say 'he dissembled the facts'.

Help me with my need for remedial English problem Amy, will ya?

In which registers or contexts would you suggest using each of these?
He camouflaged the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He dissimulated the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He masked the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He masqueraded the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He hid the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He covered up the facts, so we were unable to react quickly.
He dissembled the facts, so we were unable to react quickly

I generally ask learners to attempt to do their English exercises themselves.
So, what would your answers be, Molly?

If you are unwilling to attempt to do the exercise, then you will verify my initial impression of your last post: It is nothing more than a case of Molly stamping her foot.
