Hi Tortsen,
Thanks for lesson 4, it actually was educating.
I got 9 out of the 10 questions at first try.
It was a bit confusing but i understood the difference and context.

And it can only be possible with help of learning it more and more. Bro, I would like to say that we can improve our English by helping eachother too. It would be our practice. |

Hi Sue,

I recently got an email from Mr.Torsten and really thankful to him as i am an English learner so i have couple of questions to ask you about the usage of modal Would as much i know about it ,i will explain it here so that you can help me to get understood abot it's usage 1. we use would as a kind of past tense of will and going to 2.we often use would for past refusals 3.we often use would as future in the past 4.we sometimes use would rather like used to for habitual past behaviour 5.we use would when we imagine action or situation in the present (we think of something that is not real) 6.we use would when we imagine action or situation in the past(when we think of something that did not happen) 7.we use the same conditional sentense(7) when we giving advice. 8we use would for uncertainity, expectation, presumption, opinion, desire
Sue ,it's strange that i know about a would modal however i do not know how to use it frequently, please if you help me with this?please help me to get understand on the points which i have mentioned here.

Hi Phoebe,
All you need is a software program that can replay MP3 files such as Windows Media Player or even better Winamp which is free. Do you have any of these programs? If not, you can download and install Winamp for free.

Hi Torsten!
I have different types of MP3 players, including Windows Media Player and Winamp. But they don't help :
Listen to session 3, part 1 (English audio, MP3)
Please activate Javascript for view MP3 player
And the problem is that I can't install it without IT administartive password
Hope our IT guy at the company will not refuse me if I kindly asked :D
Thanks,

Here are my answers: Sue works for a large financial company. She usually starts work 8:45. She enjoys it because they come from all walks of life and are all ages. Bye! |

Hi Torsten, I do not know how far I can go here in touching themes. Should it be limited to the lessons, audios, grammer etc. or it could be a bit more? In this forum there are several participants, in weider sense students. More than one writes quite a good English, with an affix: "My English is very poor." And one more remark about your good pupil 'Claudine'. She writes: 'And I can revised'. You have picked it up to commend her progress. Her comment should be: 'And I can revise'. Back to me, I am highly interested to learn more about idioms and phrases and I have to enrich my vocabulary too. Your article is an ideal example in this regard: Colour idioms or "A silver lining" at: http://www.english-test.net/lessons/8/index.html Can you please suggest if there is an Online Dictionary of Phrases. There are uncountable Dictionaries but I want to see one specially for Phrases only. Thank you very much for all the wonderful job you are doing. Cordially |

Hi Torsten!
Thank you for the 3rd lesson. I've studied English at the university in Ukraine for 5 years. My English level is high enough but I have no language practice at the moment and your lessons help me not to forget what I already know. I've just listened to the Sue's recording to the third lesson and here are the answers: 1. Sue works for a large financial company. 2. 8:45 3. Sue enjoys the personal contact with her clients because they have different professions and are of the different age.
By the way I tried the tests on Business English, Advanced Level and I liked them very much. It's exactly what I've been looking for.
Have a nice day, Best regards, Lidiya |
