Hi! I'm Vladislav from Uzbekistan. It's very nesessary to listen English words and speach from specialist because if we start to listen "street English", it would be very difficult to understand sense of topic. When I listen Sue's MP3 and read the text at the same time it's helps me to learn new words more effectively.

Hi Toresten,

I did the test 'finish vs. end'. I got 8 out of 10. I have some confusions in using such words. Could you explain the use of them please?

All the best
Mohammmed :) :)

filthy opinion of a memebr #1258 (permalink) Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:07 am   filthy opinion of a memebr

historyladen or history-laden was not found in the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary. It cannot be found in Comprehensive Oxford Dictionary either.
WikipediA doesn’t find it. Lingo Pad Dictionary hasn’t it.
Who can say where it exists?
Only top terrorist Bin Laden appears in a long list.
One Forum member vehemently defends it as perfectly correct and rebukes with filthy words other members uncertain to accept it as a proper translation of a German word: “Geschichtsträchtig”. This ‘Shy-one’ member is not at all a shy one to use filthy words in this pertinent Forum. What a paradox?
