There's this song by The Beatles- "Love, love me do"

What does it mean? Why is there a 'do' at the end?

Please help.

Songs don't follow grammar. :) Just my guess, the lyric = love, love me, do love me.

Hi,

The use of 'do' is used for emphasis and as Haihao has said, it means 'do love me'.

You can find this use of 'do' in this sort of situation:

We really want you to come and see us. Do please!/Please do!
