I am a new member and am always interested in proper grammar. I feel that it isn't given enough importance in today's schools. My pet peeve is people who try to use words beyond their vocabularies! I hope to learn a lot in this forum.

Hi Danv,

Thanks a lot for joining our forum. Why do you think that proper grammar isn't given enough importance in today's schools? How do you define "proper grammar and why is it so important? Also, can you please give me an example of somebody using a word that is 'beyond their vocabulary'? What does that mean?

Talk to you soon,
Torsten
