European Commission is a proper noun?
Why it is called European Committee?
Cuz I think the Commission is a noun which is not a orgnization but a conduct mean appoint.

Hi DoubleBass

Look at definition 2a for the word 'commission' here:
http://www.bartleby.com/61/7/C0510700.html
Quote:
2a. A group of people officially authorized to perform certain duties or functions: The Federal Trade Commission investigates false advertising.

'European Commission' is the proper name of the executive branch of the European Union. In this case, the word 'commission' is capitalized for the same reason that the word 'states' is capitalized in the name of the country I live in: the United States of America.
