Hi,

My daughter often says that she won't get married until she... 25 years old
a. has been b.is c.will be d. will have been
-> I think both a and b are acceptable, so which option makes more sense?

Many thanks
Nessie.

"Until she is 25 years old" makes more sense.

Are you sure that "makes more sense" in every single version of English on earth, Molly? Wink

Hi Nessie
I would choose only option (b). Option (a) sounds strange to my ear.
For the sense that you seem to like with the present perfect in option (a), I'd suggest this wording instead, for example:
- My daughter often says that she won't get married until she is older than 25.

No, it doesn't make more sense in the version of English that is spoken by the uncontacted Indian tribe found in Brazil recently Laughing

I wonder whether anyone here will be brazen enough to categorize option (a) as unacceptable. Wink

Now, Amy, don't test yourself beyond your version. You know how that taxes you.
