Here is a question I met when learning the English Lingustics.

Combine the following indicidual rules into one.

1) A->R
A->RS
A->RT
A->RST

2) X->LN
X->LMN
X->MN
X->N

3) Y->E
Y->FG
Y->FH
Y->FGH
Y->FJ
Y->FJK
Y->FK

There has to be more context to his, Minnie, or else you were supposed to write it in IPA but didn't.

The question I posted before is according to the chapter I am learning:Syntax. It shows me IC analysis,labled IC Annalysis,phrase markers and lableled bracheting. What you are asking me is just what I am wondering. Please also check theory of Constituency and Dependency,TG Grammar,Phrase structure rules,and Transformational rules. The question I asked above is one of the exercise of the chapter. Please do some search and help me with it.Thanks! Minnie

The book I'm learning is English Linguistics: An Introduction,written by Wang Yongxiang and Zhi Yongbi, published in Nanjing Normal University Press.
