Hello everyone,

I'd like to ask what phrasing sounds more natural to native English speakers:

1. The article by John Smith discusses some problems related to changes in the Company's strategy.

2. In his article, John Smith discusses some problems related to changes in the Company's strategy.

3. In article by John Smith some problems related to changes in the Company's strategy are discussed.

All of them sound completely natural, and all of them could be used. Some writing teachers, however, tell us to avoid the passive voice whenever possible. That would mean you shouldn't use 3 if you can avoid it, even though it's a perfectly good sentence.
