Sentence correction: It is good to see combat between them again in French Open #1 (permalink) Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:33 am   Sentence correction: It is good to see combat between them again in French Open

Hi,

I am writing an article below this line.

It is good to see combat between them again in French Open Final 2008. But i anticipate that Federer has more chances to win this title. This year he has good form,and hope that will not reiterate the incident.He is deserved to win this title.

Nadal, is the King of Court Clay, Nobody has stopped from him winning
this title since he entered in the tennis.He has also have equal chances to win the French Open Final.

Does the above article contain any mistakes ?

Regards
Pavan

It is good to see combat between them again in THE French Open Final (of) 2008, but I THINK that Federer has more CHANCE OF WINNING this title. This year he has good form, and I hope that HE will not REPEAT the incident OF 2007. He DESERVES to win this title.

Nadal, is the King of (the) clay court. Nobody has stopped him (from) winning
this title since he entered tennis. He has also HAS equal CHANCE to win the French Open Final.

Nadal wins again!

Molly, why is more chances to win wrong?

And what about the following usages?

1) Federer has more chances of winning
2) Federer has more chance to win.

It isn't wrong, but I think the fixed-form, or "expected" form, is "more chance of winning".

1) Federer has more chances of winning.
2) Federer has more chance to win.

#2 is ok for me.

Hi guys

"chances" could be used in the past form;

Federer had more chances of winning; as in maybe more opportunities to hit the match point or winning ball in the final set/game.

An alternative version for the future form;

Federer has more of a chance of winning....................................

cheers stew.t.

Yesterday, Nadal beat Mardy Fish. Mardy Fish didn't stand a chance. Not a chance for Mardy Fish.

I sometimes feel like mardy fish, too.
