To the "business people" who charged for the courses, most certainly.

MrP

But not to the ones who attended it, or to the company who paid for such?

It might get them out of the office for a while, I suppose.

And while they are out, it might get them a heck of a lot of business, out there.

Do you have any proof of "such"?

Does one need proof when epistemic modality is around?

<it might get them a heck of a lot of business>

Do you doubt such?

If you don't have proof, evidence will do.

If you doubt it, say so.

What use would evidence be to you?

Still waiting for proof/evidence that "have chance" is not correct in "spoken standard British English", BTW.

If you don't have evidence that it would "get them a heck of a lot of business", no sensible company would invest in such a course.

It's not me who needs the evidence, Mr P, it's the HR managers. HR managers do the research, and we try to facilitate the learning. And the "might" still sits in my statement. Now do you have evidence which shows it would not get them a heck of a lot of business?

I don't have evidence to show that biking naked down Mount Everest with a rose between their teeth won't get them "a heck of a lot of business".

That doesn't mean that HR managers across Spain should rush out tomorrow and invest in a fleet of Harley-Davidsons.

I think most HR managers I know will get by without your help, Mr P. Stick with protecting your BrEng standard and don't let stories about big bad Indian English teachers give you sleepless nights.

Anyone know of any Spanish nurses who wished that before they left Spain to work in Manchester, England, they'd invested in a bunch of Coronation St videos?

Tell us, Mr P, were you ever a Boy Scout?

Not to butt in, but I was a Cub Scout back in, oh, about third or fourth grade (I might have been about ten years old).
