Do you know any jokes from the world of teaching and learning English?

I'll start:

A linguistics professor was lecturing to his English class one day. "In English," he said, "A double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."

A voice from the back of the room piped up, "Yeah, right."

Hi

An "in joke" that is specific to teaching in Germany is;

Why is it better to get a gift in England than Germany?

note; the German word "gift" in English means poison.

Another one for teaching telephoning skills is;

call centre agent; "Your time isnīt as valuable as ours. Please Hold".

cheers stew.t.
