Dear Torsten

I really appreciate your letter and shall tell you that I am very pleased to have you as my coach. Answering your questions about personal pronouns; I guess, I am quite familiar with them. I’ve tried the test and I didn’t have any trouble doing it. I’ve got almost of them right.

I explored the audios and reading transcripts which I liked very much because they are going to help me to improve my vocabulary and listening comprehension. I think my challenge is “reading and comprehension” which sometimes I have difficulty figuring out the meaning of certain expressions and phrases.

Is there any specific exercise I can work on to help me with? If so, please, give a hint. I would like to congratulate all of you who work on this great project which I am very sure is being enormously useful to many people.

About me:
I am from São Paulo-Brazil, and I am a retired literature teacher. I love all about literature and languages. I learned French a very long ago when I lived in Paris for two years, and I learned English in 1989 when I lived in London for 3 years. Living abroad was a privilege because I had the chance not only of learning the local language, but also getting to know some of their culture.

Many thanks for your attention,
Aparecida Alves Lima

Dear Aparecida Alves Lima,

Many thanks for your positive feedback regarding our site and materials. It's great to hear you are a literature teacher who likes learning languages and reading books. Of course you can improve your reading comprehension by reading on a regular basis and asking questions. Is there are a particular expression or phrase you find difficult to understand? Another method of improving your reading comprehension can be to read some of the vocabulary threads here on our forum.

Please let me know what you think.
Best regards,
Torsten

Thank you so much for the lesson provided. It is great and easy to follow. However, I joined English-test to prepare for the GRE. Sorry that I didn't indicate this clearly. Do you have any lessons on GRE or any advice on doing that? Your help would be highly appreciated.

Look forward to your reply.

Dear Torsten,
thank you very much! I really enjoyed the first lesson, everything was plain for me. I did the first test & made no mistakes. I'm from Biysk, Russia. I've recently graduated from the university as a future English teacher.

I want to improve my listening skills&would like to check my English level. I mean grammar.

I haven't listened to the introduction yet, but I will do it today.

Sincerely yours,

Great!

Your lessons are wonderful!

Well, what I really like is to cover ALL English grammar rules, especially EXCEPTIONS. I will be very grateful if you can help me in that quest. Another way of helping me improve on my English is to send me back a corrected version of all the mails I will send to you. This will help me avoid repeating the same mistakes. Though grammar is my main concern (exceptions in grammar), other aspects of the English language (socialization, vocabulary, punctuation, capitalization, etc.) are also of interest to me.

Since I am not 24hours connected to Internet, you will often notice a delay in responses. But I will make sure I always give you feedback.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully.

Dear Melrichs,

Many thanks for your interesting message. Your English is already very good and I'm glad you are interested in learning all English grammar rules as well as the exceptions. I think it's best if you analyze the language you come across as you read articles, books, essays and other texts to find exceptions to the grammar rules. In addition, you can read the materials on our site and take part in forum discussions. I understand that you don't have permanent Internet access so you can take your time to respond this message.

Hope to talk to you soon.
Best regards,
Torsten

Dear Torsten,

I’m sending this e-mail with great pleasure because your English lessons, grammar, exercises and everything you added in your website is really fantastic. I don’t know how to express my happiness! My elementary education was not good because I studied at a Regional Language School in my rural area. Now I am working in Dubai as a Graphic Designer and I was faceing a serious problem of my English language before I found out your website. Sir, I wish I could become a good English speaker. Your website is helping me a lot. I always pray for you and your team since I met you through this website.

I really thank Sue Darville, her audio class is really interesting and here pronunciation is so sharp. I’m sure, Almighty God will give good health to continue this glorious job because you are showing a candle in midst of darkness.

With Regards,
Jose

Dear Sir,
I would like to thank you for the mails you keep sending us which are so helpful and tell us that we would never stop learning, no matter how old we get.
I would like to ask a favour that is about providing penfriends to my pupils who are aged 12-13. They wish to have foreign penpals who would write in English so that they can all improve their writing skill and find out about a new culture.
I would like to know if there are any sites available that would allow our school to be twinned to any other school around the world.
Yours faithfully,
Kawa Beja.
