Dear Idriss Dagal,

Thanks a lot for you joining our forum and sharing your learning experiences with me. It's great to hear you like our email English course. Please tell me more about your aviation mechanic training program. How long is it and what subjects do you cover? What kind of materials do you use for your training and who are your instructors?

Regards,

Dear Ms Hoa,

Thanks a lot for registering on the forum -- now we can exchange messages on a regular basis. As for your question, I think you are already on the right track with your listening and reading program. Please tell me what you listen to and when. For example, you can surround yourself with spoken English throughout the day if you switch on the TV first thing in the morning and have an English language channel play in the background while you are having breakfast. Then, on your way to work or school you can use an MP3 player to listen to an audio book.

You are absolutely right -- you can improve your writing skills by reading English texts on a regular basis. When you write, try to use phrases you have read or seen before to avoid mistakes. Also, do you know how to type? I'm asking because typing properly is a vital skill that helps you improve your writing skills dramatically.

Please let me know what you think.
Best regards,
Torsten

Dear Torsten,

Thank you very much for the emails you've been sending to me! They are so helpful to me and my daughter, Sissi.

Would you please give me a story about phrasal verb "put". Everyday I read a story to her, she learns vocabulary well and fast this way! Can you believe that, we are learning English as a foreign language!

Also I want you to give my thanks to Sue, she reads so clearly, neither fast nor slow! We both like listening to her!

I'm looking forward to your story about "put",

Best Regards,
Minnie

PS: I mostly get 8-10 correct per 10 questions, and I am learning a lot with English-test online!

What do you want to learn? Wed Jul 02, 2008 17:10 pm  What do you want to learn?

Hello Torsten,

I'm Shazia. I'm from India but I live in Saudi Arabia. I have a few goals which I want to achieve in my life and one of them is being "The Best English Teacher". I'm planing to do a CELTA course. I have already applied for a job at New Horizons Direct English but they have given me time to complete the course and join them as an English Teacher.
I recieved both your lessons and I heard the audio by Sue. I thank you very much for the lessons, they are easy to follow. In my first test I scored 10. I haven't taken the second one yet. I have registered in this forum as Ms.Unique and I had sent you a personal message before. Well that's all about me. Any advice about teaching non-native speakers or any books or study plans which will help me in my career are most welcome.
Thanks again,

Hi Ammy,

So you are from Egypt and moved to Canada; that's very interesting. How do you like life in Canada and how is different to what you were used to back home? I guess you must be very busy with three children. How old are they and what languages do they speak?

Talk to you soon,
Torsten
