That's right. "To take something into account" means to consider something when thinking about something else.

So, for example, when deciding how to punish a 14-year-old boy who has committed a crime, the judge may take into account the fact that the boy is treated badly at home, and maybe the judge will give him some kind of punishment that will help him improve his life.

If you want to open a restaurant, you have to take the location into account. If the restaurant is on a road where there isn't very much traffic, it probably won't be successful.

When you choose a career, you have to take your talents into account. You'll do best at a career that you have a natural ability for.
