Use of else Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:32 am  Use of else

We use else to substitute other or more after:

somebody, someone, something, somewhere; anybody/one/thing/where; everybody/one/thing/where; nobody/one/thing/where; who, what, why, when, where, how; whatever, whenever, whoever, wherever; little; much.

In a very formal style, it is used after all.

When all else fails, ask a specialist.

You have to learn these rules, or else, you'll flunk your test.

Let me know if this answers your question. Regards. Torsten
