She wants to make it clear that her course was in Fine Arts as ... from Graphic Art.
A. distinct
B. separate
C. different
D. discrete
The correct answer is A. But why not C? I don't understand.
Can you explain why they choose A, not C in this situation?

Hi Sophie,

'As distinct from' really means distinguish one thing from another from. In other words the distinction is between the two types of 'art' and the speaker wants to make this distinction. They are also different of course but that isn't the point that's being made.
